Louisiana Homes & Gardens Design Awards 2008: And the award goes to . . .

Written by: Jill Martinez

Louisiana Homes and Gardens is proud to reveal the Sonata award winners for the first annual Residential Design Awards Competition. Architects, interior designers, landscape architects, builders, and homeowners from around the state flooded our office with entries in both professional and amateur categories. Hundreds of submissions were considered by our prestigious panel of judges, which included Roger Smith, publisher of Louisiana Homes and Gardens magazine; Beth Claybourn of Beth Claybourn Interiors; and Phillip Tebbutt, Associate Professor of Interior Design at Louisiana State University. Of these submissions, Sonata awards were presented in 26 original categories at the gala event on October 5, 2008, at the historic Houmas House Plantation. The following pages pay tribute to the worthy recipients and applaud their contributions to the world of design within the state of Louisiana.

Louisiana Homes and Gardens also paid tribute to two lifetime achievement award winners, Beth Claybourn of Beth Claybourn Interiors, and Drew Bevolo of Bevolo Gas and Electric Lighting. Each of these individuals has not only excelled in their particular industry locally for over four decades, but through their dedication, talent, and expertise, they have reached beyond our geographical borders, delivering national attention and prestige to our great state of Louisiana. ✦
