Louisiana Homes & Gardens Design Awards 2008: Interior Design: Traditional

Interior Design – Traditional

Corinne Laborde Interior Design

In Old Metairie, the Laborde family lost their beloved Acadian-style home to Katrina floodwaters. “The silver lining to the black Katrina cloud,” as she puts it, was the blank slate from which she was able to start fulfilling her own design dreams. The new house, featured here, is a French beauty both inside and out. “In the overall interior design, I wanted my home to look ‘Old World,’ like it had been there for years, while also maintaining a comfortable and inviting feeling throughout. I feel like I accomplished just that with the warm golden hues and the aging of the walls and woodwork,” says Laborde. ✦
